The last of the funerals are today ...

... I hope that the services will give the families some kind of closure. I know that when a family member is lost that suddenly and at that young of an age and that senselessly, it does something to you. I just want to extend my condolences to each and every family.
With that said, we can look forward to American Idol tomorrow because we've actually got us a competition now. They finally got rid of Sanjaya and my boycott is over.
I'm so glad they got rid of that lil' fella I don't know what in this world to do! Maybe he'll go quietly into obscurity once he's done with all the press. Lord knows, if I never have to see that curly-headed lil' dude again, it will be too soon. At least William Hung was funny. Sanjaya was flat out annoying and I'm sure no one is happier than Simon!

I guess I should say something ...

... about the unfortunate events at Virginia Tech. My heart goes out to each and every family, student, faculty/staff member and community member who has been affected. Something good will come out of this.
With that said, it is high time that people stop pointing fingers and examining what could have prevented this. Nothing could have prevented this - nothing. So I am making an appeal to my brethren and sisteren in the media to please stop talking to all of these so-called experts. Where were they when this kid was walking around in pain - screaming for help and attention. This is proof positive that you never know what's going on in people's heads until you ask them or care about their welfare.
The main reason that this has happened is we as people have stopped caring about each other. We all come together to lend helping hands and support after some major catastrophic event has occurred, but it is always after the fact. I say we have to start back asking each other how we're doing and actually caring about the answer. We only get one life, let's try to live it right.

Finally ...

I think we're getting somewhere. MSNBC has opted to drop Don Imus' show and I couldn't be more thrilled. While I certainly don't take joy in anyone loses their job or taking a pay cut, he should have thought about this before he opened his mouth.
The thing that bothers me is the fact that people have been pointing fingers to black rappers who do the same thing. While I do believe that we need to address their word choices, now is not the time to be pointing fingers. What are we teaching our kids in this country? Are we teaching them that they can say whatever they want to say as long as they find a scapegoat? Are we teaching them that they don't have to take responsibility for what they say as long as someone has said it before?
I say, bullcrap. Now is the time for us to start teaching our folks that they need to accept responsibility for their actions. It's high time that we need to start telling folks that they can no longer use the defense that they didn't think before they spoke. It is scientifically proven that your brain has to send some sort of message to your mouth to speak, you thought before you say anything.
For future references, I suggest that not only Imus and his producer, but everyone else needs to start taking responsibility for their own actions. It is high time they stop taking the juvenile approach of pointing crooked fingers at other people. Man up, take responsibility for your own actions.
If you're man enough to say it, be man enough to suffer the consequences.

I can't go anywhere! What is it about my extended breaks that makes people go crazy?
The last time, a tornado hit a couple of small towns in Florida, Joe Biden called Barack Obama clean and articulate and Brandy was being sued for a car accident.
Now, a talk radio show hosts, who said he's not a journalist, has called the black women who belong to the Rutgers University basketball team "nappy-headed hoes," and a guy went postal at an accounting firm.
First things first, they caught the lunatic who shot up the accounting firm. Apparently the man went to the office, shot and killed the receptionist and wounded two other management level employees. According to CNN, the man was looking for the people he shot so this was no random act.
No motive was being reported but I wonder if this guy was fired. This proves my point that people in management need better training on how to deal with their employees. A lot of managers do not know how to talk to their employees like they are people and this causes them to blow a fuse.
But for those of you thinking about going postal in the future, please get a faster car than a Ford Fusion.
Now, on with this Don Imus thing. I'd like to know who his publicist is, just what the freak is in his contract and the amount of dirt he has on the head of the FCC. They drove Howard Stern from commercial radio for far less than this. I am not even a fan of Stern's or Imus' shows but at no time is it OK to speak about women, of any nationality, in a derogatory manner.
Had this been Tom Joyner, Steve Harvey, Doug Banks, Russ Parr or Michael Baisden in this equation calling any white girl a "white trash ho," it would not have even been an issue. They would have yanked them off the air right then.
CBS and NBC has made a "gesture" by taking Imus off the air for two weeks, but that suspension will begin next week. Nothing is even being reported about whether or not he is being suspended with or without pay.
This whole thing has gone way too far and the best way to end it all is to go ahead and relieve this man of his duties. He is waiting for the whole thing to die down and I am willing to bet that this suspension is to wait everything out. The idea is that this campaign to get him fired will loose momentum.
I hope it doesn't. I hope this thing keeps growing and growing until both networks are forced to either let him go or cease operation.
