All good things must come to an end ...

... and that rang true on Tuesday night when Sen. Barack Obama's string of state primary victories came to a screeching halt. Sen. Hillary Clinton won three out of four primary elections on what broadcasters are calling "Super Tuesday II."

Obama started the night off strong by winning Vermont but his victory grew stale as the results came in and we learned that Clinton had not only won Rhode Island but she picked up the two major states of Ohio and Texas.

Confusingly, Texas also held a caucus last night and the results are still not in. The last time I checked, Obama was winning the caucus 52 percent to Clinton's 48. Under ordinary circumstances, I might be happy about that but it seems to me that people don't mind voting for Obama when they are in a group but as soon as they close the curtain and it's just them and the ballot, they vote for Clinton. What's up with that?

Are they voting for Barack when they get into groups so that they don't seem racist or what? I mean it is a big boy game and everything, but I would think that the caucus and the votes would match. I could be wrong, but if I am please get me right.
Like every other setback in life, there is a bright side to all of this. Obama is still leading by nearly 100 pledged delegates. I was really hoping he'd go into Tuesday and win all of the primaries and pull further away from Clinton and lock up the nomination. But I guess we can't all have what we want.

At any rate, I guess congrats are in order for Satan Jr., better known as Sen. John McCain. OK, OK, maybe I shouldn't call him Satan, but the dude looks evil. Seriously folks, the man frightens me through the TV. He doesn't open his mouth when he talks and he always has that, "I eat children" smile on his face. I'm concerned.

But hey, we have another bright side. McCain picked up a pair of endorsements from Former and current Pres. Bush. I don't know about you but I am extremely cautious of anything endorsed by a Bush. If they came out now to say that Mr. Goodbars are the best candy bars in the world, I'd stop eating them.There's not a single thing that a Bush has done for me that I would consider good so excuse me if I have a hard time trusting anything that comes out of their mouths. Now if they were to say, "Dub-ya's an idiot and we stole the first election," then I'd probably come around. But until then, anything they say can and will be held against them.

He was found dead last Friday outside his apartment complex from an apparent drug overdose. he was 31. That is just sad.
I won't use this post as a diatribe to tell how all of our young black men are dying for no reason, because you already know that. I will use this to say that this mess needs to stop. That's the end of that because I am not trying to get up on a soapbox about this.
Since I never admit that I'm wrong, about anything, let me be the first to tell you that maybe I wasn't completely right about TV completely sucking now.
In case you haven't seen the previews, ABC gave Shaq, that's Shaquille O'Neal, a reality show about helping to combat childhood obesity. I know this shouldn't be funny, but it is really hard NOT to laugh in this situation.
I am not laughing at ABC calling in reinforcements to help combat childhood obesity, but they got Shaq! They didn't get some health guru, a reputable physican or athletic trainer, they got Shaq. Big ole', 7-foot tall, Incredible Hulk dipped in chocolate, cockeyed Shaq.
Now don't get me wrong, I like Shaq. He's sexy, in his own way, but athletic trainer he ain't. This man was about 70 pounds overweight until he went to Miami. What can he do, besides play with these kids, that is going to encourage them to lose weight?
Speaking as a big girl myself, I just don't see how prodding from an oversized human is going to encourage folks to lose weight.
And last but certainly not least, anyone who has been watching CNN has no doubt seen the story of the married couple with three children in Tennessee who has been deployed to Iraq. This is by far the LAST straw.
How can these politicians rest at night knowing that they have sent both parents of three children ranging in ages from 9 to 12 off to fight a pointless war?If they're parents don't make it back, who is going to raise these children? Who is going to support these children?
I'll tell you who it won't be, it won't be Bush or any of his cronies. Why in the hell hasn't anyone called for Bush's impeachment?
Oh that's right, he hasn't had an affair.

Nearly a month ...

and so much has happened!
First off, I would like to congratulate Jennifer Hudson and Eddie Murphy on their Golden Globe wins. Both did outstanding jobs on their roles and they deserve all the praise they are getting. I am happy to report that I do not have to boycott any awards shows in the near future. This is one down and many more to go!
Secondly, I am still trying to get over President Bush and his address last week detailing his "plan" for the remainder of the war in Iraq. I am amazed and downright astonished that the man has yet to be impeached.
The man admitted that he expects more lives to be lost in this new effort and he is still calling for more than 20,000 troops, airmen, seamen and Marines to go on this suicide mission to secure "democracy" and ensure the safety of the people a full ocean away.
I'm just saying, we don't have democracy and safety here, how are we going to tell other people in their own country how they should live?
They finally killed Saddam Hussein and now they have hanged his co-defendants. I am certainly not one to govern how folks handle their own business, but who in the world let someone get a camera into this event?
The guy who recorded and the folks who watch it over and over speak volumes about how horrible and un-empathetic we have become as a society. It is absolutely horrible that we continue to watch this without any sort of remorse or empathy for his family. He may have been what we deem a horrible man, but no one deserves to have their death, execution or not, broadcast for the entire world to see.

Is it just me ...

or should President Bush take advantage of the Employee Assistance Program and go lie horizontal on a psychiatrist's couch, preferably someone like Dr. Phil?
The man is delusional. Even after yesterday's report, he thinks that we can win the war. The man has been quoted saying that our guys "will prevail." Somebody e-mail the president and let him know that we've already lost.
Just yesterday, we lost 11 more troops. Which brings the grand total to about 2,919 since 2003. That does not even to begin to include the thousands who have been wounded physically and mentally. When will it end?
But on a brighter note, the jackass has finally admitted that, "It's bad in Iraq." Well no s---, Sherlock. I don't know what is better, his hindsight or his ability to deflect questions. At a press conference, a reporter asked him when he'd start to make decisions on implementing the changes detailed in the report. He says that there are still studies being conducted.
OK, it's my turn to e-mail the president now to tell him that things don't go so well when he studies. Look at how college turned out for him. And get this ya'll, now he's planned a 'major speech.'
Everybody say it with me now, "So."
The last thing we want to see is this imbecile on TV, interrupting "Ugly Betty" or "Grey's Anatomy" to tell us what we already know. "The war is bad and I don't know how to fix it."
I am just tired folks. Tired.
But hey, I have some good news. Mary J. Blige got nominated for eight Grammys this time around. I am so happy and proud for her. She deserves all the due she's getting this time around.
And in crazy negro news, Eddie Murphy is denying that he is the father of Mel B.'s baby. For those of you who have a short musical attention span, Mel B., used to be Scary Spice, i.e. the only sista in the Spice Girls.
The two dated for a hot minute and split a little over a month ago, shortly after Mel announced her pregnancy to the world. Now, I am hoping that Eddie didn't leave just because Mel is preggors, but somehow, I am not surprised.
The man just got out of a 13-year marriage where he had five children and then he and the Spice Girl started dating. I am guessing that he didn't want to do the family thing so soon. But hey don't worry about him, he's dating Babyface's ex, Tracey Edmonds who has two kids of her own.
Seeing as how Tracey and Eddie both just left marriages, she and her ex were also married for 13 years, I seriously doubt that they'd both be trying to rush into another family. I have a great idea, if Eddie would just use a condom, he wouldn't have to go that route again.

Is it '08 yet?

I am not one to rush time, but could 2008 please hurry and get here? Let's get somebody in the White House who will actually be able to do something besides get people killed.
Ya'll's president told reporters that it is al-Qaeda who is responsible for all of the violence in Iraq. I guess it doesn't have anything to do with American troops being over there to boost his ego.
And what is going on with NYPD? It seems like once a year some of these guys find a way to kill a minority without reason. And the sad thing is, it is spreading down south because Atlanta Police killed an elderly lady in her own home.
I am disgusted.
In case you haven't heard, NYPD managed to kill a 23-year-old man on his wedding day. The beat up part is one officer fired 31 rounds and 19 more came from other officers. Why in the world would an officer empty two magazines into one car?
I guess the Diallo fiasco taught them nothing. This is precisely the reason that people do not respect the police. Granted all of them are not bad guys, but the ones who are do more to tarnish the badge than the good ones do to uphold it.
I sincerely hope that the families of this slain man and woman get the justice they deserve and the officers at fault get the punishment they deserve.
