It's been a minute ...

... I know, but, see what had happened was ... it's a long story. But you know I got some stuff for you.
In the words of the incomparable Mary J. Blige, "I've held my tongue too long ..." This Genarlow Wilson business is getting out of hand. I was hoping they would have handled it a couple of weeks ago, but seeing as how the story has disappeared, I think it is safe to ASS-ume that nobody cares except we "darker-hued" people.
This guy is locked up for doing something that almost every 17-year-old boy has done. He received fellatio from a 15-year-old girl. Apparently what he did is considered child molestation. There is a two-year difference between the two, we're talking a senior and a sophomore. How many seniors dated sophomores when you were in high school?
Apparently they were found out when a video tape was confiscated of the actual act happening. First off, if they were going to do this, the little Filthy McNasties should not have been in a position to have had this thing taped. And what about the girl? Has she been charged with something? Did anyone talk to her to find out if he coerced her?
I'm guessing no. Some girls these days don't have any kind of respect for themselves. They're not shy about the fact that they are getting their teenaged grooves on. But lets face it, this whole thing is ridiculous.
Granted they are teenagers and they shouldn't be engaging in any sort of sexual relations, oral or intercourse, but let's face it, it's happening. My advice to the law enforcement folks down in the Peach State, GROW UP!!!
The law that has Wilson in that cage was changed. Now instead of a 10-year prison sentence and having to register as a sex offender, like offenders will only have to spend a year in jail. The only problem is the change was not retroactive, which means Wilson won't be grandfathered into the new law.
Since Wilson was denied a bond at a hearing last month, his case won't come up again until October. He'll just have to sit in prison, with hardened, life-long criminals until then. But hey, maybe he should have lied to investigators and helped to out a CIA operative and then maybe he would have gotten a lighter sentence that would have later been commuted.

THIS IS A SPOILER ALERT ....

If you have not yet seen the BET Awards, stop reading now. And for those of you who have, lemme just start by saying: oh - my - God!!!
It's not that it was that good, it's that it was that bad. I don't know about you, but I'm a lil' upset that I wasted three hours of my life that I will never get back.
OK, it started off really strong with the Jennifers (Hudson and Holiday), but then, I don't know what happened. The producers went a little over board with the "Main Event" theme. They even brought in Michael Buffer.
So the short of it is, the show sucked until the Destiny's Child semi-reunion. I say semi- because Beyonce did "Get Me Bodied," which by the way is my new favorite song, using Michelle and her lil' sister Solange as two of her background dancers. Anybody else see anything wrong with that?
The performance was pretty much a live version of the video. Then Kelly and Eve came out and brought it on home with Kelly's single "Like This."
In case you haven't seen it yet, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-fW3fuW_a0. I would really like to hear what you guys think.
I am actually wondering what Michelle was thinking when Beyonce asked her to dance. I really don't care what Solange was thinking because she started out as a background dancer anyway. It was probably like her childhood. At any rate, the girls can still put on a great show.
I also thoroughly enjoyed Diana Ross' acceptance speech when she received her lifetime achievement award. She told the young performers to "keep it classy."
*ROTFLMBO*
OK, I'm alright now. But really, how classy was she when she made her drunken journey to her neighborhood Blockbuster?
Don Cheadle made a very nice speech, but then again, he always does. That man is so underrated as an actor and a person, it is not even funny.
And last and least, somebody should have grabbed Patti LaBelle before she went out on that stage looking like a Chinese bridesmaid. Now we all know that Patti is the bomb, always has been. So why in the name of ALL that is holy, did she put on a kimono with her ta-tas hanging out and take me back to the mid-90s with that wrap with a bang?
Who wants to see 60-something ta-tas besides a 60-something man? I'm through with her now. She could have come out in one of those psychedelic body suits from her LaBelle days and it would have looked better. After that outfit, she's going to have to change the words to "Lady Marmalade."
"Hey sista, no sista, no sista, no sista. Hey sista, no sista, no sista, no sista. She bought that damn dress down in old Chinatown she said I hate red I want brown. Then she said, 'hey, hello Cho, I wanna give it a go. And Cho said, gitche, gitche na na da da, gitche, gitche na na, eeewwwwwwwwwww..."
Anyway, the show sucked. So for the rest of the 127 times that it airs this year, find something else to watch.

Well thank God ...

... Rosie O'Donnell has finally come to her senses and will not be going after the Price Is Right gig! I don't know about you guys, but I am about ready to throw a party!
In other celebrity news, Paris Hilton was released from jail last night. Yea, I don't care either, but I thought I'd mention it.
And on the "Thank Ya Jesus" side of the law, a Washington, D.C. area judge has thrown out the lawsuit that another judge filed for $54 million for a lost pair of pants.
I am so glad that this judge has the sense to see the case for what it was and say that it was crap. He should hold him in contempt of court and send his butt to jail for wasting the courts time.
Shoot, I still can't get over the fact that he paid $800 for a pair of pants. I would think that if he could afford $800 for the pants, he should be able to afford Dryel to clean them bad boys at home himself!
That is ridiculous. If I had $800 to spend on pants, I wouldn't do it. I'd go to Lane Bryant and buy 16 pairs of $50 pants and call it a day. Anyway, let's not go there.
Last, and least, the BET Awards will air live tonight. I am not all that excited about it, but I have to watch this train wreck. I will be back tomorrow, or later tonight, with a full ... uh ... commentary about the "goings on!"

I think it's safe to say ...

... that I have seen it all.
Have you heard about this $54 million lawsuit that a judge in D.C. has filed against a dry cleaner? The man is suing for a lost pair of pants. That's right, a pair of pants. But get this, they found the pants and now the man says they aren't his.
If you don't believe me, click the link. http://www.cnn.com/2007/LAW/06/13/trouser.trial/index.html
You know I'm pissed right? He just had to be a negro, didn't he?
Now just where are these people supposed to get $54 million if the jury rules in favor of this haberdashery obsessed fool? It was a pair of pants - that they found. Where does the $54 million come in? Is he trying to buy the whole dang company that made the pants?
You'd think this case would have been laughed out of court, but the guy who filed the suit is a judge and he is acting as his own lawyer. He keeps finding loopholes that allow him to keep this thing in court.
I hate to be cliche and say he's making us all look bad, but he ain't exactly making us look like good people to do business with either.
I saw on Nightline the other night that the pants were worth about $800. Eight hundred dollars, for some pants. Some regular a-- pants! That's $400 a leg.
I hate to see how much he spends on socks and drawers.
Do you realize that I can pay my rent, cable/internet bill, electric and still put some gas in my car? And he spent that on some pants. I'm glad they lost those pants. He should have gone home and just counted that as a learning experience - a stupid tax, if you will.
I hope the jury rules in favor of the defendants and makes that judge pay a hefty fine for wasting time and resources and I hope he has to pay those people's legal fees.
Eight hundred dollar pants - why doesn't he have a special dry cleaner on his payroll, since he can afford $800 pants. Shoot, for $800 those pants should have had some legs in them and some Stacy Adams on the feet on those legs.
