On and on ...

... now on to minorities on television. It seems that two of the funniest black (African-American, negro, colored) comediennes will be taking a little time to enjoy The View.
Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd have signed on to be the new hosts for the ABC morning show. Shepherd and Goldberg have been named to the posts after the abrupt departure of the ever-so-nutty Rosie O'Donnell and the unwarranted termination of Star Jones Reynolds.
The ladies will step into their full time roles at the beginning of the new season. Thank God America will finally see the view of someone other than a white woman. Honestly, I stopped watching the show when Star left.
I know the show is geared toward those "desperate" housewives but aren't there any housewives of color? How are they supposed to be able to turn on a daytime talk show and find people who look like them and that they can relate to? I don't want to play the race card but dang!
Speaking of daytime television, on the "Thank ya Jesus" side of TV, Drew Carey has signed on to become the next host of "The Price is Right."
Carey will take over for Bob Barker who spent an unprecedented 35 years as the host of the show. Earlier this month, it was rumored that Rosie O'Donnell was going to take over the show. Can I just say that my prayers have been answered? I just don't think I would have been able to sit through a whole hour of her and the Rockettes telling people to "come on down!"
I am anxious to see what Carey has in store, if it's anything like "Whose Line Is It Anyway" was then my DVR is going to be full of this and Oprah.
Ooooh, I can't wait, Oprah and Plinko!

Well thank God ...

... Rosie O'Donnell has finally come to her senses and will not be going after the Price Is Right gig! I don't know about you guys, but I am about ready to throw a party!
In other celebrity news, Paris Hilton was released from jail last night. Yea, I don't care either, but I thought I'd mention it.
And on the "Thank Ya Jesus" side of the law, a Washington, D.C. area judge has thrown out the lawsuit that another judge filed for $54 million for a lost pair of pants.
I am so glad that this judge has the sense to see the case for what it was and say that it was crap. He should hold him in contempt of court and send his butt to jail for wasting the courts time.
Shoot, I still can't get over the fact that he paid $800 for a pair of pants. I would think that if he could afford $800 for the pants, he should be able to afford Dryel to clean them bad boys at home himself!
That is ridiculous. If I had $800 to spend on pants, I wouldn't do it. I'd go to Lane Bryant and buy 16 pairs of $50 pants and call it a day. Anyway, let's not go there.
Last, and least, the BET Awards will air live tonight. I am not all that excited about it, but I have to watch this train wreck. I will be back tomorrow, or later tonight, with a full ... uh ... commentary about the "goings on!"

Say it isn't so ...

... please tell me that Rosie O'Donnell will not be the new host of The Price Is Right. Even if it's a lie, tell me that she won't be the host so that I can sleep better.
Does CBS have a death wish for that show? Don't they know adding her to the mix of anything already established will equal the death of the show? Look at what happened on The View. See how people stopped taking time to enjoy it?
I'd hate to see that happen with The Price Is Right. Instead of telling contestants to "Come on down," they'll be shouting it to their ratings.
I mean, she is the only person they could have found who can mess that show up. It has been on TV since Bob Barker was a young man and he went to high school with Jesus!
Adding her to the show will only cause long-time viewers, like myself, to stop watching. Granted I am working on most days when the show is on, but what will I watch at 11 a.m., when I'm working from home?
I am so disappointed in them even using her as an option. What about all of the other folks who are out of work who could use that break? Why not Caroline Rhea? Why don't they dig up Chuck Woolery from the Game Show Network? Nobody watches Lingo except me and my little cousin anyway. And what about that guy from Home Improvement who used to host Family Feud? Anybody but Rosie!!!
Don't get me wrong, I don't hate her. I just can't stand her sometimes. I mean, do we really want the Barker Beauties replaced by The Rockettes? I mean, it is tradition to have those women to come out and model some of the most obscure stuff, but they are fully clothed - in some nice clothes too.
You know she's going to turn it into a production. I just get the strangest feeling that the contestants will have to know show tunes in order to make it up to the stage. She will start announcing the game instructions in those little voices that she likes to do. And, she is going to completely f-up Plinko with talk about how we need to get rid of Bush and we can't have that!
Believe me, I want Bush gone as much as the next chick, but I don't want to hear about it on my daytime TV shows. I say we all call CBS and start petitions against her taking over for Bob Barker.
And while we're at it, let's find out why they don't have any shows that are based on black families or black folks period.
Now, whose with me?!

A whole month ...

... and you guessed, people are still crazy! Thank God that it is the kind of crazy that is hilarious and not horrifying. Brace yourself, this is going to be long. I haven't been by in a while.
First and foremost, is anyone disappointed that Rosie has finally left The View? I know I'm not. She's been nothing but trouble since BEFORE she got there.
I know you guys remember when Star started losing all that weight, she talked about her so badly that it wasn't even funny. Then when she got there, she turned it into "The Rosie O'Donnell Show featuring a couple of sidekicks," starting fights and offending folks along the way.
Let's go ahead and get this out of the way, if she had any pigment in her skin at all, she would have been let go after that "Ching Chong" incident where she was picking at Asians. And now the childish brat is saying that she'll never speak to Elisabeth again.
I have absolutely no idea why they kept her around as long as they have. I don't know who the hell she was supposed to appeal to.
They've got the Hasselbeck chick for the young housewives, Joy Behar and Barbara Walters (when she goes to work) for the retired women, they lost their minority when Star left and no one for the older housewives.
I give The View one more season before the network pulls the plug. It's had a good run, up until last year, and they need to go ahead and put the show out of its misery. That fight between Rosie and Elisabeth was the benediction.
Next subject, I know everyone saw Miss America fall. That was freakin' hilarious!!!
Oh my gosh you guys, I saw it earlier today and I was having a bad day, but that clip was definitely a pick me up! I know I shouldn't laugh at others misfortune, but that was funny. I mean, the whole world was watching that pageant and she fell.
~still laughing and tearing up~
OK, I'm OK now.
Can we please move on from LiLo and her drinking problem? I mean gosh, the girl has been in Hollywood her whole life and is finally old enough to party like a rockstar. Leave her alone, let her battle her demons in private.
And last today, but certainly not least, who do I have to threaten to get a decent season/series finale?
I know that some of you guys are as into TV as I and you have been watching these god-awful excuses for season finales. Some of these shows aren't even coming back and they did not tie up the loose ends. Now, ya'll know I love to support my people of color on network sitcoms and dramas, but the networks are really making it hard to do.
First off, last season, they got rid of Half & Half and One on One when UPN and WB merged. They kept All of Us, made it decent and are now taking it off the air without a series finale. Then, they also kept Girlfriends, got rid of Toni, made the show SUCK, and had what could have naturally been the end of it all.
ABC got rid of George Lopez and added Ugly Betty. Great add, but why did they take away George? I just don't understand anymore. Where are they getting these freakin' test audiences from? Is it that they don't want to see how people of color live or are they afraid that we appear "too human?" Or is it that Americans have such a severe case of ADD that we don't care what happens to our characters anymore?
I tell ya'll man, it's almost enough to make me stop watching TV all together - almost.

Merry Chrismahanukwanzakah ...

to you and yours. Since it is so close to the holidays, I wanted to give you guys one last post before I take to kitchen and the dinner table at home. I want to urge you guys to be safe and to be careful and to have a good time.
With that said, of course, you know I have to speak on your girl Rosie, and I don't mean Perez. Rosie O'Donnell has found a new enemy in Donald "You're Fired" Trump. With yesterday's press conference that allowed a drunken and drug using, irresponsible person to continue to represent the country as Miss America, O'Donnell took it upon herself to talk about Trump and how he was not a "self-made" man and the two continue to trade insults today.
I am just amazed at how far the immaturity is reaching over from the world of sports. Before you know it, competing insurance salesmen will be running around cities calling each other "doody heads," and telling each other that they have "cooties."
Gatekeepers, editors and anyone else who determines what news we get first, STOP PUTTING THIS CRAP ABOVE THE FOLD and STOP MAKING IT YOUR TOP STORY!!!
OK, I'm done with that now.
Last but certainly not least, since I know a lot of you guys will be traveling, please remember to take your precious cargo, i.e. your children and grandchildren, through the regular metal detector when you fly.
Some woman out in California "mistakenly" put her month-old grandchild through the airport x-ray machine. Maybe I'm going to hell, but I thought that was funny. Anyone who has ever flown knows that they have you doing so much stuff when you get up to the metal detectors that you just say screw it and put everything on the rollers.
I'm sure they told her to put all her bags on the rollers so they could put them through the machine. And she did, baby and all. The baby was laying on top of the carry on luggage. LoL!!! That is just funny to me. That baby must have been sleeping so good, I mean not a "coo" or anything.
Just please, before you get ready to walk through the medal detector, count your kids.
